People REALLY need to learn that when approaching a traffic light that is out, you don't go through it, just because the guy in front of you went through it. You STOP, just like for a stop sign.
Back to the story. I got home around 4:30 yesterday, and was without power. I made arrangements to make sure my basement didn't flood (why does it always seem that we lose power after a rainstorm?) Around 6:00 I headed to Frisbee, since I didn't have anything else to do. There weren't many people there, but we won, despite my poor play. I came home, and hooked up the generator, so I could have light for a post-game shower, and to read by until bed. The neighbors also borrowed some power for their sump pump and a fan. I unplugged the generator and went to my sweltering bedroom. At precisely midnight, the power came back on, and so did the A/C. I slept much better after that. The rest of Rochester also seems to have power again. 8 hours without power isn't too bad. It's not like the 2 1/2 days back in April when it was 30 degrees out.
