There are, a couple people that I feel like I've known for years, that I wish on many occasions that I lived near them, to help them through the hard times, and to be with them to celebrate the good times. I feel as if I know some of you as well as my local friends, and I feel privileged when you share the events of your lives with me, both good and bad, whether it be through LJ, IM, email, phone, or text messaging :)
Now, I don't find myself judging people in everyday life on things like skin color, religion, beliefs, or anything else (thanks mom and dad), but with the Internet, those things are even MORE distant. Some of the people who I trust, and care about have completely different beliefs than me (Muslim, Buddhist, Jewish, agnostic), and it doesn't matter. Some people have different political views than me, that's good too. I am intrigued by their beliefs, but I do respect them.
Where am I going with this? I don't really know, except that it seems odd that wars are fought under the guise of religion, skin color, politics and other silly things. I am not going to be silly and say, "Can't we all get along?" because that's silly. I know we all can't, and there are some people that I just don't like, but I'm not going to stab them in the eye because of it.
So, this post is to thank you for letting me share in your lives. For letting me someone you share in your accomplishments, and letting me help you through the pitfalls. I sincerely do appreciate it.
