Frisbee Play-by-Play

It was hot and humid last night. Almost 90F and 80-85% humidity. That's nothing for Georgia this time of year, but I live almost in Canada. Anyway, I got there, and my left ankle was hurting when I put on my brace, so I took it off, and it didn't bother me the rest of the night, which was a definite plus. I also found the watch I lost a week ago, which is another plus. We started the night by doing some drills, and I ran for a total of 70 yards during the drill and was totally exhausted. It was bound to be a long night.

The game started with us scoring the first couple points, and we generally looked really good. I wasn't making my best throws, but I don't think anyone was. The game overall was a lot less heated than the previous week. No arguments, no real pushing. There were a couple fouls called, but they were handled as they should have been. Anyway, we made it to half-time ahead 8-4. It was a lead, but it wasn't a comfortable lead. At this point, I was totally and utterly exhausted, and was soaking wet with sweat (I know you wanted to know that). The first half took way too long too, with some of the points bordering on the 10 minute range.

The 2nd half started with the blue team (not us) scoring 2 points in a row, bringing their total to 6, and we still had only scored 1. Being ahead 9-6 and not feeling comfortable, we regrouped and scored another 5 points to their 1. We were now ready to take the game, ahead 14-7. I went on the field, and made very little actual difference, but we did score the last point. I did, however, get a cramp on that last play.

The cramp didn't bother me at first, but when I got in the car, and tried to take my shoe off, my calf just tightened up, and stayed that way for a good 5 minutes. I was in serious pain, and it's still sore this morning, despite the ibuprofen and heating pad.

Next week's game should be a tough one.
