Interesting 60mi ride

I called Scott this morning to tell him to wake up and get over to my place for our 60mi ride. His step son answered, and said, "He's asleep." I replied, "Well, wake him up". He did. I was shocked.

Anyway, Scott got to my place and we headed off. 6 miles into the ride, Scott had to stop and use the bathroom, so we waited. We then pulled out to the traffic light where Travis promptly fell over. He said, "I'll catch up!" Well, he didn't, so Eric, Scott and I went back to find out why. Turns out he bent his handlebars, and knocked his front wheel out of alignment. While going back to Travis, I ran into the curb and also fell over. Agh! My seat was out of alignment (which I didn't realized when I got on it), and knocked the front wheel out of alignment. We stopped a mile later for me to fix my seat, and it was then Travis noticed that some of my food had exploded all over my jersey pocket. Sugary goo was all over my jersey. Yay :(

We continued on from that point into the wind. Serious 10mph headwind. We turned around at mile 31 and headed to a McDonald's that we passed to get some water, and clean up (sticky goo was all over my hands). While inside, Travis' tire exploded! A nice gentlemen came up and asked us if we needed any help (pump, tubes, etc). We said we were all set but it was nice of him to ask if we needed any help. We continued on from that point WITH the wind. On the way there, we averaged 14.9mph. On the way back, about 17mph. Good job tail wind. Overall average, 16.1mph. (60.1 miles in 3hr, 42 minutes)

On a large hill on the way back, I decided to sprint to see how fast I could go. 45.8mph (in a 35). Too bad there wasn't a cop running a speed trap there.

Anyway, I'm back, I've lost 3 pounds, and am kind of hungry. Burning 2100 calories will do that to you.
