On another note, I ordered a compact flash card for my camera from Amazon back on Dec 11. I emailed them on Dec 20th asking why it hadn't shipped, since the product page still said, "Ships within 24 hours." They replied saying, it was out of stock, and they'd up the shipping to overnight because they goofed, but still couldn't guarantee Christmas delivery. Thursday, I got an email saying that my order was still out of stock, and to follow the click to cancel. I followed the link, and it said my order was preparing to ship! Coolness. It shipped via overnight UPS on Thursday to be delivered Friday. Around 6pm Friday, I checked the tracking info, which said, "Rescheduled delivery for Dec 27." I was annoyed at this point, since I wanted it for the trip to India, and Tuesday is the day after I leave. I tried to call UPS, but got the message, "due to high call volume, we cannot take your call right now." Lovely. I went to the concert and didn't give it a second thought, figuring I'd just go out and pick one up for 125% of the cost today. Lo-and-behold, I checked the tracking info this morning and it was out for delivery, on a Saturday, none the less! So, for once, UPS isn't actually screwing me over. The package was delivered today (Christmas Eve, and Saturday, despite the scheduled delivery of 12/27).
