So, I took pictures 2 weekends ago at a dance recital. All was well, and we've sold some pictures. After expenses (printing, mailing, hosting, etc), we have made a whole $137. Not a whole lot, but enough to cover a new backdrop. It certainly doesn't cover my time of taking the pictures, or post-processing. Anyway, it turns out the dance school owner wants 10% of the sales. This is absurd to say the least, considering I didn't charge to take the pictures. I would be willing to give her 10% if she paid me $200 to take the photos (would incite her drive sales), or 10% of anything over $1000 (same reason). My problem now is that even if I were to give her 10% of the profits (a whole $13), which I would be willing to do... she is going to accuse me of cheating her anyway.
Of course, if I do nothing, I probably won't be invited back next year. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
